World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Members' area

About

Our Cabaña is one of the four world centres owned by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Each centre offers a unique Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting experience, influenced by the culture of the country and the international composition of our staff members. These two influences blend at Our Cabaña to produce a program that is unique to Mexico, unique to Our Cabaña, and unique to the time of your visit.

Let us offer you ...

"a greeting smile so friendly and a handshake so warm"

The Chief’s door, through which all visitors pass, is only the start of the experience of being at Our Cabaña. Behind this impressive blue door are five acres of gardens, many buildings and special places where friendships can begin and flourish. Our Cabaña opened in July 1957 and since that date has welcomed over 70,000 Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world.

Myself and my travel group have had an amazing week and have made many friends and learnt lots about WAGGS and Mexico.
Thanks to all the staff for their hard work, welcoming attitude and lovely personalities. I will certainly miss the cooler climate.
I would recommend Our Cabana to anyone considering visiting a World Centre but would suggest having at least 3 days in Ticalli to help get over the jet lag before getting into the packed out programme offered at the Cabana.

My girl scout troop visited Our Cabana in the mid 1960's and to this day our visit has a profound impact on my life. I would love to visit again some day. Although this may never happen - a part of my heart will always reside in Mexico.

Having just returned from Cabana, I have to say that anyone who has ever thought of participating in a session should go for it. Just to say you have walked through the chiefs door and been met by your sisters in Guiding and Scouting has to be a highlight in a lifetime. The staff and volunteers take such good care of you it is amazing. You have to go!!
