Our Cabaña is launching a new Community Program, offering members of WAGGGS a new and exciting experience of Mexico. The 6 week program will revolve around volunteering with various community organizations in Cuernavaca, Mexico to help with their day to day running, with special events and more.
This program has been designed specifically for those who wish to be more involved in helping local communities in Mexico. Participants will work directly with a range of community organizations in and around Cuernavaca and it is therefore necessary to have some Spanish language skills.

The Community Program will begin with a week of orientation and training, getting to know the Cabaña, the staff and Cuernavaca. During the program a member of Cabaña staff will carry out regular meetings with you and the community organizations to ensure that the program is meeting the expectations of all involved. A full evaluation will be carried out at the end of the 6 weeks, and a reference will be provided for those who require it.
Furthermore, where they coincide, participants on the Community Program will have the opportunity to experience aspects our International Friendship Events, such as trips to local sites of interest, campfires, activities to learn about WAGGGS and Mexico, ceremonies, games and crafts. There will also be the opportunity to meet and work with the Mexican Guides who have their weekly meetings at Our Cabaña.
When?
The new program will be offered during the Autumn (September and November) and Spring 
months (March-May).
What does it cost?
The 6 week program will cost US$3500. A registration fee of US$35 is also required to secure your place on the program. This fee is non-refundable and not credited to the program cost.
What’s included?
The price includes twin room accommodation at Our Cabaña, full board with breakfast and dinner provided at the Cabaña and packed lunches whilst out on projects, all program activities including transport to and from community organizations.
Transport to/from Mexico and from the airport to Our Cabaña are not included in the price. Participants are expected to organize and pay for these themselves, as well as ensuring they have adequate travel insurance.
